On his third deployment, Gary Everett deployed to Iraq in 2004 where he was wounded in an IED blast. Though the injuries from the blast stalled his career, Gary was determined to overcome and after 23 years of service, US Army Sergeant First Class Gary Everett retired.

After his retirement, Gary did move beyond his injuries and found healing in his passion for fishing. Now as a Pro angler, he shares his passion with other Exceptional Warriors to encourage their healing. Gary enjoys getting Warriors on the water before Fishing Tournaments during the FLW Rayovac series and B.A.S.S. Opens.

Determined not to leave Warriors behind, Gary has partnered with The Foundation for Exceptional Warriors (The FEW). The FEW provides outdoor adventures of all kinds, and he believes that The FEW is the perfect platform for him to show other Warriors that there is a Way, you do have Value, nothing has really changed except how Determined we have to be. “The Pathway to increasing personal Value is simply Determination.”

Being a Pro angler and a leader/ mentor in the Warrior community,  with a wife of 31 years, a daughter and two grandsons, Gary’s life is a balancing act, but it’s also his personal therapy.
